Seeking an experienced Conflicts Counsel for AmLAw 200 law firm client. This is a BRAND NEW position supervising two conflicts analysts and will work closely with the Director of Knowledge Management and the Office of General Counsel to manage the business intake system; analyze legal conflicts of interest; ensure compliance with ethical rules and firm policies; and develop and implement a centralized Outside Counsel Guideline (OCG) intake, review and compliance process.
Will consider qualified candidates located anywhere in the U.S. to work remotely but preference will be given to those in Atlanta, the Southeast and Washington, D.C.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and resolve conflicts for new business and lateral attorneys.
- Review engagement and conflict waiver letters and assist lawyers in negotiating client amendments.
- Facilitate lateral integration for business intake matters.
- Collaborate with attorneys to address and resolve conflicts.
- Update standard engagement and waiver letters.
- Provide training on conflicts and business intake processes.
- Provide support to attorneys and others regarding ethical walls.
- Maintain knowledge of professional conduct rules and related developments.
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- J.D. and admission to a bar.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
- At least four years of combined experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or equivalent experience, combined with recent law firm compliance experience.
- Experience with Intapp New Business Intake and Conflicts preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in online research tools (e.g., Westlaw).
