Job Description

A law firm client in the Atlanta Metro area is looking for a Land Use & Zoning Planner with at least 5 years of experience in public planning. The Land Use & Zoning Planner will support the practice group with drafting and analyzing rezoning requests and maintaining files. 

Our client has a strong reputation in the Atlanta area for providing comprehensive legal services across various industries. This position has flexibility to work remote 1-2 days per week as needed.

Duties:

  • Draft and analyze rezoning requests, codes, and other documents
  • Track and prepare for public meetings and hearings, including coordinating court reporters, preparing mailings, etc. 
  • Maintain all online files regarding zoning applications
  • Track billable hours
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in urban planning preferred
  • AICP Certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in public planning function in Georgia
  • Experience with land development and building permits, sewer and water allocations, and general governmental plan review
  • Knowledge of various land use approvals (zoning, Comp Plan amendments, variances, special exceptions, overlay districts (including historical), conditional use permit, subdivision approval, DRI processing, and text amendments.)
